Hi there,

I done some flash upgrades on my cisco router 4500 series.Since it
cannot boot up eventhough go through several step or procedures on
password recovery it still return to rommon. here is the output:


System Bootstrap, Version 5.1(1) [daveu 1], RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Copyright (c) 1994 by cisco Systems, Inc.
C4500 processor with 8192 Kbytes of main memory

device does not contain a valid magic number
boot: cannot open "bootflash:"
boot: cannot determine first file name on device "bootflash:"

rommon 1 >


Tried to use xmodem for this kind of disaster but the command seems to
be no available...any ideas ???

I'm pretty sure that 4500 can not do xmodem. Other option is of course
tftp. And if it has PCMCIA (i don't remember if 4500 has PCMCIA or not..
haven't seen one for a while) you can put image on it.

No can do on the XMODEM. And no flash card support. The poster will
have to find a working 45/4700 and update the bootflash.
