Greetings,
I notice when I dial-up to my AS5300 and AS5800 servers the compression
stays at 0% on windows 2000. Yet, when I dial up to some other ISPs
(not sure what they are running server wise) I get compression of up to
42% download.

Why isn't the 5300 and 5800 giving any compression? Is there anything I
can do to enable compression on these beasts?

You probaly have to use

compress mppc
(microsoft ptp compression)

Yeah, we had a problem with CDC (nee CCO) this morning.
There might be a few glitches left.

Well now it shows compression as on... and I see % of compression on the
dial-up info screen, and it does seem that text comes in MUCH faster,
however when I do a show compress on the 5800 it says things like:

Async3/3/21
Software compression enabled
uncompressed bytes xmt/rcv 33284667/3340841
compressed bytes xmt/rcv 0/0
1 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 0.995/1.100
5 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 0.995/1.119
10 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 0.995/1.132
no bufs xmt 0 no bufs rcv 0
resyncs 31459

Why is it not showing any compressed bytes xmt/rcv?
